The society is actively involved with:

Promotion of dendrological knowledge to its members and the public to create awareness for the importance of protecting our indigenous tree heritage, balanced ecosystems and biodiversity as a contribution to the efforts in saving of our living planet

Assistance to the public in terms of technical services such as tree identification, tree measuring, tree identification courses and other relevant expertise and skills

Participating successfully in numerous reinforcing efforts as a registered, interested and affected party to the many increasing industrial developments threatening biodiversity loss as well as the management of alien invasive plant species in South Africa

Your generous donation will directly support our initiatives, enabling us to make a difference to our efforts warding off the many challenges that threatens the decline in our indigenous tree heritage and human wellbeing. As a registered non-profit organisation and a Section 18A Approved Tax-Exempt Institution with SARS, your donation to the Dendrological Society of South Africa may be tax-deductible.

The DSSA is registered as a Non-Profit Organisation number 184-149 NPO with the Department of Social Development.

The DSSA has been approved as a public benefit organisation in terms of section 30 of the Income Tax Act, (the Act) and the receipts and accruals are exempt from income tax in terms of section 10(1)(cN) of the Act. 

The public benefit organisation has been approved for purposes of section 18A(1)(a) of the Act and donations to the DSSA will be tax deductible in the hands of the donors in terms of and subject to the limitations prescribed in section 18A of the Act
